Flesh of Gods
Flesh of gods
Suddenly, they woke up,
feeling a soft, multicolored carpet
covering their existence.
Suddenly, they knew
what mortals enjoy or fear:
the fact that death
is their only certainty.
Suddenly, chemicals
and electric shocks
created a trembling,
movement, and beats.
Suddenly, thoughts emerged,
unfolding images
identifying objects
and other beings.
Suddenly, the sun
heated their masses,
and the wind
cooled their entities.
Suddenly, they grew tired,
or they felt overwhelming energy.
They got sick,
or no pain was their art.
Suddenly, they discovered
a glittering truth,
a portrait telling them of gods
becoming human in form.
