A Mirror’s Call

Santiago Ospina poet published author

Looking the deep eyes of that mirror,

One wonders how brainless one is when words seek to demolish our angels in Earth;

Looking the deep eyes of that mirror,

One wonders why tradition continues shaping our beauty into something shallow and selfish;

Looking the deep eyes of that mirror,

One wonders why violence is always calling at kindness' door, and yet without any answer, it erupts in bombs of hatred and sorrow;

Looking the deep eyes of that mirror,

One wonders why you, who have the ability to scream in the middle of the street that superiority is a thing of those who have a meaningless hose;

The mirror has left, and the moon and the sun meet in purple colors, waiting for a chant of freedom and a life without those whose brains are melted in a shallow existence.
